What’s Included:

* 8 days and 7 nights at the stunning, eco-friendly Blue Osa Beach Resort and Spa, with access to miles of secluded jungle beach.

National Geographic has called Costa Rica’s Blue Osa peninsula one of the most eco- diverse locations on the planet. The peninsula sustains 2.5 percent of the world’s total biodiversity. The Parque Nacional Corcovado is home to the highly-endangered giant anteater, tapir, harpy eagle, all of Costa Rica’s big cats, and a wide variety of monkeys and birds. Daylight hours during early April are approximately from 5:30 am to 5:45 pm.

A variety of excursions is available, including horseback riding on the beach, rainforest tours, zip line adventures, bird watching, kayaking, hiking, and more!

* Airport shuttle service to and from Puerto Jimenez. 13% Hotel Tax.

* Daily housekeeping service.


* Free wi-fi in the common area in the Cocina.


* Towels for beach and shower.

* Environmentally friendly Osa soap and shampoo that is produced locally. (If you choose to bring your own products, please try to ensure that they are environmentally friendly to protect the delicate eco-system.) Please note that blow dryers and curling irons are not permitted at Blue Osa. The resort is primarily solar powered, and their system cannot handle the voltage.

* 3 delicious farm-to-table meals and a snack each day, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and fresh bread baked daily. Daytime meals are primarily vegetarian, while evening meals may include meat or fish.

* Filtered water is available at no charge.

* 2 daily yoga practices with Tomme - Gentle Yoga in the morning, and a calming yoga practice in the evening that may include elements of Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Tai Chi, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation. Combined with the morning yoga practice will be a daily lecture and discussion to explore what it means to live life moment-by-moment. You will learn strategies to remain present and focused as you navigate life’s ever-changing waters.
      
* An extra sunrise Gentle Flow yoga practice during the week.

* Yoga mats and all props (blocks, blankets, straps, chairs, etc.). (Ignore any contrary information on the website about renting mats or bringing your own. Mats will be provided for you.)

* Use of the chemical-free lap pool, relaxing pool pavilion, and meditation area.

* 1 spa massage is included in the price of your retreat. Other spa services are available for additional fees.


What’s Not Included:

* Airfare.

* Cost of any excursions, including the separate cost of transportation to and from the excursion.

* Gratuities for Blue Osa staff (suggested $20-$40/day per person; cash only).

* Spa services beyond the 1 massage included in your registration fee.

* Beer, wine, or other specialty beverages, which are available at the bar for an additional fee.

* Costa Rica departure tax of $29/person.

TYPICAL DAILY SCHEDULE

6:00-7:30 am          Blue Osa observes “quiet time” each morning to allow for meditation and reflection. Coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and granola will be available during this time. This is a wonderful time for a quiet walk on the beach.

7:45-9:30 am          Lecture, discussion, and Gentle Yoga with Tomme

10:00-10:45 am      Brunch

10:45-2:00 pm       Free time - relax at the pool, walk on the beach, enjoy spa services, or take an optional excursion (add. fee)

2:00-2:45 pm         Afternoon snack/light lunch

2:45-5:30 pm         Additional free time

5:30-6:30 pm         Calming yoga practice

6:45-7:45 pm         Dinner

7:45-9:00 pm         Choose socializing, games and fun with fellow retreaters - or quiet time on your own.
   
About Tomme Fent


I took my first yoga class at age 51. Like most beginners, I came to yoga as a form of physical exercise. I also hoped yoga would help ease some of the aches and pains of “middle age.” Little did I know that I was embarking on a journey I would want to continue for the rest of my life. I believe nearly everyone can benefit from yoga, regardless of their physical fitness or challenges. The physical practice of yoga - asana practice - benefits all of the body’s systems, and helps our bodies remain able to move with ease as we age. Asanas also help quiet our nervous system so we can truly relax and find peace. But the physical practice is only one aspect of yoga. For those who also embrace the teachings of yoga, the breathing practice (pranayama), and the meditative practices, yoga can become much more than a way of “doing” something - it can become a way of “being.”

I want to share that path with my students. It is my goal to offer interesting, varied classes that awaken both the body and the mind, and leave my students feeling centered, present, and ready to face the world beyond the studio. “With great respect and love, now the blessings of yoga instruction are offered.” Sutra 1:1.
